It is officially October, and to many locals, that means it’s the start of shoulder season in the Winter Park and Fraser Valley. It’s getting cold out, but there’s no snow. By definition, shoulder season is that period in between a destination's low and high seasons. Typically, there's many deals to be had. Many tourists have since left, but to us, there’s still plenty to do. Take this week for example: Monday Night Football just got a lot cooler. Gather up your buddies and head to The Foundry in Fraser. Watch your favorite game on their 30 foot big screen and relax in one of the luxury stadium seats for FREE! There's a full bar and concessions available. It's first come first serve, so don't be late! The Foundry is the newest attraction in the Winter Park and Fraser Valley, and I think the most popular ‘shoulder season’ hangout as it has 8 bowling lanes, a luxury movie theater, billiards and shuffleboard, plus wonderful food (think wood fired pizza) and a full bar. October 12-13th is the 28th Annual Ski and Snowboard Swap at the Winter Park Ski Resort base. Here’s your chance to take advantage of new or gently used equipment and gear at a fraction of the cost while benefitting the Winter Park Competition Center. To round out the month of October, head to cooking school at Devil's Thumb Ranch and have Chef Evan teach you a thing or two on October 25th. Then, gather your Halloween costumes and come to Cooper Creek Square on October 27th for a night of treats, friends and fun while trick or treating at all the Square’s shops and restaurants. Enjoy your “Shoulder Season” in the Winter Park/Fraser Valley, I know we will!
