Spring cleaning in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado can be challenging, but for such a good reason! We live in pine forests, get over 300 days of sunshine a year and due to our love of animals, we'll have dirt coming in that front door by the bucket load!
In the real estate industry, and especially in the ski resort town of Winter Park, Colorado, summer is typically our busiest time of year for real estate sales. Before you list your mountain property for sale, it's a good idea to open the home or condominium up for some fresh air. Sprucing up to get rid of any built up dust, etc., goes a long way to making the home look ready for a showing. Go ahead and make sure that windowsills are in good shape, not cracking and peeling from the intense sun we get up here in the mountains. You know that you only have about 30 seconds to make that incredible first impression. Put many of your personal belongings away in a closet or a drawer, that will make it easier for a buyer to imagine that the property might be theirs instead of someone else's.
To assist in the clean up effort, I thought I would post these recipes for homemade cleaners that I found on pinterest.com. I love the idea of being in this pristine resort community and using products that won't harm the environment. Happy Spring Cleaning!
