I say this every change of season, but fall in the Colorado mountains truly is my favorite time of year. I can’t get enough. Must we go to work when there’s beauty surrounding us on every single trail here in the Fraser Valley? Even driving up from Denver the other day, the colors on Berthoud Pass are incredible and help me breathe easier as I make the turns for home. I’ve been enjoying hiking with my mom who is visiting from Indiana, to trail running, to mountain biking, to as of yesterday, coaching the middle school cross country team – like I said, I want to be out capturing the moments because we all know fall in the mountains could be over tomorrow!
Weather forecasters are predicting warm and sunny skies for at least the next week, so hopefully that’s enough time for you too, to enjoy the changing colors.
Need tips on where to head? Snow Mountain Ranch (picture here from cross country practice this morning) has fabulous trails from easy to strenuous, throughout many Aspen groves. My personal favorite of the week, because of its proximity to my Real Estate of Winter Park office, are the trails up in the Leland Creek area. Sunset Pink is out of this world gorgeous right now, as is Akima’s Way and Sundog. It took my mom about thirty minutes longer to walk the other day because she was taking it all in.
It’s truly refreshing, this gorgeous valley we get to call home. I feel lucky every day that it’s my playground and I hope you get a chance as well to see for yourself.
Feel free to reach out for suggestions next time you’re in the area.
Happy Trails! Amanda
