The air is cool the leaves have turned that perfect shade of yellow that the sun enhances to make it seem like the entire forest is glowing... Fall is here!
With fall comes one of my favorite things to do. Listen to the elk bugle in Rocky Mountain National Park! If you have never heard the bugle of a bull elk you are in for an experience that is both thrilling and haunting. The sound is as memorable as anything you are likely see in the park.
The peak of elk rut in Rocky Mountain National Park generally lasts from mid-September to mid-October, although it is often possible to hear elk bugling into November. The scene of hundreds of elk in one location, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and fall colors should not be missed.
