Sunday Brunch in Winter Park, Colorado

This Sunday my family enjoyed one of my favorite Winter Park Sunday activities. We headed to Fontenots, a local cajun restaurant for a leisurely Sunday brunch. The smell of freshly roasted coffee and powdered sugar Beignets simmered through our now ever present masks as we pushed the door open to the warm and inviting atmosphere at Fontenots in Winter Park. 

Sweet or Savory?

After social distance chatting with the locals who frequent Fontenots, we made our way to our table to contemplate our breakfast choices. The classic breakfast questions: sweet or savory? Waffles or Huevos?

Beignets or Bennies? Our family usually starts with the unforgettable Bread Pudding Beignets then divides between Breakfast in the Swamp (gumbo with breakfast potatoes and eggs) and Huevos served in a crispy tortilla bowl. 

Reconnecting over Sunday Brunch

The best part of Sunday brunch is the reconnecting we do. During this time of mask wearing and self isolation, we savor our time as a family to reconnect, phones away, enjoying the slow pace of our small town. We connect with our community, letting local restaurant owners know we value them staying open. We also get to connect with friends who are sharing similar experiences at their tables. 

With stomachs satisfied and hearts full we then head out on Thanksgiving Adventure; snowshoeing, x-country skiing or skiing at Winter Park Resort. Hope to see you out there!
