Winter Park Resort Pushes Back Opening Day

Winter Park Resort announced that they will be pushing back opening day for the 2020/2021 ski season which was originally set to be November 18.  After careful consideration the earliest they will open will be November 30, but that is subject to change depending on weather and public health.  The health and well being of guests, employees and the Grand County community is still their top priority.  Winter Park Resort has felt this decision is necessary after the impact the East Troublesome Fire had on Grand County, joined with Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions.  They feel it is in everyone's best interest to allow more time for more terrain to open up, allowing more space for you to enjoy on the mountain.

Here are a few other updates on operations and lift ticket information.  Dining options are still being worked out, but there will likely be modifications to indoor dining that will limit capacity and reduce contact.  They are still encouraging guests to be prepared to spend more time outside since indoor space will be controlled and limited.  Rentals are now available for purchase online and will need to be pre-booked ahead of time, visit the link for more details  If you planned on visiting Winter Park and had made reservations through Winter Park Resort Lodging for the month of November please email to reschedule your trip or receive a refund.

Daily lift tickets are now on sale!  All lift tickets will need to be purchased online at least 48 hours in advance.  Tickets will not be available for purchase on-site at the ticket windows this season.  There will be a daily limit on ticket sales during holidays and weekends to help minimize crowding.  Some days are already sold out due to high demand.  Keep in mind when purchasing tickets online you will not see availability for the dates that have already sold out.  It's not guaranteed, but more lift tickets could be released for these dates later on.  Plan accordingly since tickets purchased at least 10 days prior to your arrival will be mailed to the address on file, allowing the guest to go directly to the lift.   For more information or to book your lift tickets visit

Season Pass holders are still not required to make a reservation and remain the priority.  Uphill access will still be allowed but with the growing popularity of it comes some changes.  This season will require a $15 Uphill Access Armband, with all of the proceeds going to Grand County Search and Rescue.  The armband will need to be pre-purchased and will be good for the full 20/21 ski season.
