 Mud Season Rolls Around

It’s that time of year again, where things get quiet, the resort is closed, restaurants close, and locals vacation outside of the valley. While we patiently wait for winter to arrive, it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore the changing colors, the flowing rivers, and the amazing serenity and scenery that surrounds us! So exactly where you might ask? Here are a few of my favorites...

  1. Take a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park

    • RMNP has over 60 peaks well above 12,000 in elevation. With more than 415 square miles, there is plenty to explore. You are almost guaranteed to see elk and moose along the way! PLUS, it is the perfect time to see the males in rut. Be sure to check here, for operating status, reservations, and COVID-19 restrictions.

  2. Mountain Bike

    • With more than 600 miles in local trails, that could remain dry for several weeks to come, there are endless possibilities to explore. Between the crisp autumn air and the changing colors of the mountainsides, mountain biking is the perfect fall activity.

  3. Take a Scenic Drive

    • Pack a dinner and your loved ones into the car and head to one of the many gorgeous routes in the county. Some of my favorites include Corona Pass and Cottonwood Pass!

  4. Breweries & Distilleries Tour

  5. Take a Hike

In the mountains, every season offers a variety of outdoor activities. Which is exactly what makes the Grand County so special. Take advantage of this quiet time and get outside!
