This extended time at home has really given me an opportunity to explore something that is right in my back yard so to speak. My neighborhood in Grand County consists of a 2 mile loop around a nice meadow. Do you know how many times I’ve run or walked this loop? When I’m short on time, which happened a lot pre-quarantine, it was great and a quick fix for some cardio. When the trails are dry, you’ll find me running a new one each day. Since that’s currently not possible given the snow and mud we have, I run the loop a lot, and the loop is frankly quite boring now. So, I’ve taken to running outside of my loop and wow, how eye opening it has been. It’s funny because there's miles and miles of roads right here, and miles and miles of space. I just never noticed them surrounding me in this way. When I have a little time and need that quick fix, I stick to the loop. Yesterday, I just kept going. Yesterday, I learned that the streets surrounding The Fairways at Pole Creek are hilly! I’ve driven them many of times, but never have I run on them. The views, stellar. The views never get old to me and I’ve lived here in the Winter Park/Fraser Valley full time for 9 years now. It really made me stop and take a picture every so often just to capture my surroundings, well, and catch my breath.
As I thought about this, it made me reflect on all that I’ve noticed since being forced to slow down life and stay at home. I could go on and on, but as with my run’s hidden gem, I’ve also noticed the hidden gems with my family. They are fun people. And, we’re each doing what we can to stay active, healthy, and enjoy life’s little moments together. I’ve become really good at ping pong. My daughter likes to help me cook. My husband is really funny (I had kind of forgotten how much so after being married nearly 17 years!). And, my teenage boys actually CAN get along!
My run today made me stop and think about all the little gems around us – we just have to open our eyes outside our loop. I certainly hope that you’ve found yourself enjoying the time, enjoying your family and enjoying the place you call home.
Be well, Amanda

"Erin was a great agent to work with and I would recommend her to anyone who was selling. Your website is really hard to use, not user friendly and we even make websites and have for years. We also dealt with ARMLS and IDX and created searchable websites for that data and don't see why your website isn't better maintained."
